How the school
system works against us
The School system stunts our organ growth
Its an odd fact but at young age our organs don't grow as much as they
should because children use more energy to process things in their brain
when they are at a period of physical growth and should relax their mind.
Intimidates You
The school system teaches us that us the students are wrong even if
what we did was right it. When we do have a view or opinion that we share
the higher authorities. When we say something like that you want to change
something for the better they just say that it will never happen, when
they should encourage you because it would be better for children to grow
up and try to improve things. Principals will only ask you certain questions
making you fell like your more guilty and more guilty and make it harder
for you to defend ourselves.
Teaches you not to change things
The school system teaches us not to change things just to bypass them.
It does show in the schools that they are following this as well
because they just ignore allot of the problems and they don't fight hard
to change things and tell us to just follow their foot-prints so our society
wont advance.
Teaches us to solve things using hostile aggression
They say through their lips that you can change things by being assertive
and talk it over with someone. but this only works if the person is willing
to listen in which case the authorities at the schools are not. Without
being able to express ourselves assertively we either resort to passive
means where nothing gets done about it, or resort to aggressive means which
show in the students that do show aggression in their acts. The students
then learn that they must use aggressiveness to be herd and show it in
later in life. The school system should teach assertiveness and be assertive
listeners themselves.
They use Punishment not Discipline
Their is a big difference between punishment and discipline. The responsibility
of the principle is to discipline not punish the students but they do punish
us. Discipline is a learning experience that does not intimidate the child
just let him/her understand and punishment is intimidating the child. An
example of proper discipline is sitting the kid aside for five minutes
to sort out ideas relating to an problem. punishment would be doing something
like making fun of them or mini lecturing (will be referred to later).
A child should only sit aside for the maximum of five minutes, 30 is way
to long and that is an average detention because it is just boring for
them and not helping with the situation.
Mini lecturing
Mini lecturing is a technique used by allot of principals and parents
it is shoving something into a persons face. An example of mini lecturing
would be to say "you shouldn't show up late, why do you always show up
late". The students know the consequences and what he/she did wrong and
it is intimidating to have that done to you. The repetitiveness is very
disturbing and leads to anger and depression. This is taught in the parenting
class at school but the information gathered in this course is not applied
in the school
Teaches hierarchy not Democracy
The teachers always say that the country should work together in a
democracy but the system itself is a hierarchy now what kind of message
is that. They always push us underneath them when they say that we should
all be treated as equals but they abuse their authority and intimidate
us for being lower in their hierarchy. They should listen for their are
some good ideas in students ideas that could make things better and what
is right cant be proven wrong.
Discourages sense of adventure
With out a sense of adventure we would never know about anything because
we would not look for answers like what is inside of us, how herbs benefit
us, or what is in the sky. Students are always told what not to do when
we can learn more from our mistakes and our experiences than from someone
else. We need to explore and to be encouraged to not to be told what's
what and just be told to believe it.
